Wiki Concept
Open source intelligence
The data on this site is for public use. Some key statistics are drawn from the CIA World Factbook website. The urban genome project is designed to attract open source information through a transparent interface to encourage global internet collaboration on the DNA of cities. The plan is to continually improve our comparative tools so that citizens are empowered to assess the key metrics of their nations and cities against others. To contribute to the data wiki on this site apply for registration here. Once registered you can edit data and upload information.
Biocity Contributors
Anyone is welcome to add data and references as long as they do so within Biocity Studio editing policies and to an appropriate standard. Substandard or disputed information is subject to removal. Users need not worry about accidentally damaging Biocity Studio data when adding or improving information, as other editors are likely to advise or correct obvious errors, and Biocity Studio software allows reversal of mistakes.
Because Biocity is an ongoing public work it differs from a paper-based reference sources in important ways. In particular, older articles tend to be more comprehensive and balanced, while newer entries may contain misinformation, unverified content, or vandalism. Users need to be aware of this to obtain valid information and avoid misinformation that has been recently added and not yet removed. However, unlike a paper reference source, Biocity Studio is continually updated.
